Acupuncture

Acupuncture is the use of needles on points on the body. These points lie along a network of channels. This therapy can use laser light, electricity, magnets, injection, pressure, and gold bead implantation on these points. Charissa applies  these techniques as needed.

Injections may be given of water and vitamins in very small doses on acupuncture points. This is a special technique called aquapuncture and gives a long lasting effect. It can be part of prolotherapy for joint disease.

If needed  Charissa  shows  owners how to use acupressure. Pressure usually lasts for 30 seconds, once or twice a day..

In cases of paralysis, electricitycan be passed through acupuncture needles.Tiger, a male staffy 3 years old with a severed thoracic spine was treated by electroacupuncture, he later climbed the 9 foot fence..

Acupuncture changes chemicals released by nerves, improves circulation and reduces pain. It is used to treat musculo-skeletal problems and can have input into all diseases.The dog featured here, Poppy, is having acupuncture by short wave length light or laser as part of successful treatment for 15 mast cells tumors. Poppy loved this treatment, she always relaxed for the trip home.

A wonderful relaxing and energising point before travel is Pericardium 6. Massaging this point before and during travel will help with car sickness and anxiety.

Approx ¼ of the leg length above the transverse crease behind  the wrist, between the obvious tendons of the superficial digital flexor and the flexor carpi radialis.
