Acupuncture

Acupuncture is the use of needles on one or many points on the body.  These points lie along a network of meridians or channels.  Other forms of acupuncture involve the use of laser light, electricity, magnets, injection, pressure, and gold bead implantation. Charissa applies all of these techniques as needed.

Injections may also be given of water and vitamins in very small doses on acupuncture points. This is a special technique called aquapuncture and gives a long lasting effect.

Acupressure may be performed by owners.. many types of touch are used, Charissa will often give owners this task.  Pressure is usually applied to a point for only 30 seconds, once or twice a day only.

In some special cases of paralysis , electricity is passed through acupuncture needles. This is called Electroacupuncture. It is not generally well tolerated but may be useful where all else has failed.

The use of acupuncture changes chemicals released by nerves, improving circulation and reducing pain.  It is commonly used in the treatment of musculo-skeletal problems and can also be used as an adjunct to western treatments of diseases.

There are many systems of acupuncture as all countries of origin developed schools taught by their own masters.

I use a personally developed system based on intervention in the meridian which I consider to be the origin of the pathology, and  a movement of its earth energies.

In the last 50 years in European countries, there have been western masters who created their own systems which were then taught.
